How to convert BMP to PDF

BMP is an uncompressed image format used by Paint and some older programs. That makes the files very large and hard to send. The converter turns BMP into a PDF that takes up much less space and opens on any device.

  1. Add BMP images

Drop one or more .bmp files into the box above.

  2. Choose the page size

A4 with margin for printing or “Same as image” without a white border.

  3. Download the PDF

Combine the images into one document or save them separately in a ZIP.

Why it is worth it

  • a PDF with a BMP image is usually many times smaller than the BMP file itself
  • it is easier to send by email and attach to a form
  • you get several images in one file

Good to know

The image is saved in the PDF in high quality at full resolution. For drawings with sharp edges, such as diagrams, you can first save the file in Paint as PNG and use PNG to PDF.
