Your files

PDFowo tools (merge, split, edit, compress, convert, sign and more) run in your browser. The PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image files you load are not sent to a PDFowo server or stored anywhere.

Sending a PDF to your phone

In the "Send PDF to phone" tool the file is transferred directly between your devices (WebRTC, encrypted connection). To set up the connection we use Supabase Realtime, which relays encrypted technical connection data but never the file itself. STUN servers (Cloudflare, Google) only learn the IP addresses needed to connect the devices.

Account

An account is optional. When you register we process your email address, nickname and (when signing in with Google) basic profile data. Your account stores your favourite tools, plus the signatures and tool settings you save. We never store your files. Account data is handled by Supabase (authentication and database). In the “My account” view you can delete your saved data or permanently delete the whole account at any time.

Contact form and bug reports

The contact form sends the name or nickname, email address, topic and message you provide; the bug report form sends the email address, nickname, selected tool, problem description and optional screenshots. They reach us by email and we use them only to reply, review the report and, where applicable, grant a reward.

Third-party services

Libraries and fonts are loaded from external servers (cdnjs, jsDelivr, unpkg, esm.sh, Google Fonts) and Google AdSense ads. Their operators may see your IP address and browser details. Text recognition (OCR) additionally downloads language data from the network; the file itself stays on your device.

Browser storage

The site stores settings such as theme and language, and your sign-in session, locally in your browser. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and builds no visitor profiles (we only see aggregate data such as which pages are read and from which country). Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) may be set only with your consent. When you sign in we also set a necessary session cookie: if you untick “Keep me signed in”, you are signed out when you close the browser. Editor autosave keeps a working copy of your file only in your browser storage (IndexedDB); it is never sent to a server and disappears once you save or discard the work.

Advertising

The site is funded by Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads, if you consent — in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for it in a consent dialog that you can change at any time. Details: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. The files you process in the tools are never shared with advertisers.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of and port your data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
