How to extract photos and graphics from a PDF

Product catalogues, presentations and reports contain pictures you may want to use separately. Instead of taking screenshots, extract the images straight from the file – in their original resolution.

  1. Load the PDF

Drop the document in the box above. You will see all the images stored in the file.

  2. Select the images

Click the ones you need. The “Hide small images” option hides icons and small elements under 100 px.

  3. Choose a format and download

Save the images as PNG or JPG – one straight away, several in a ZIP file.

Original quality

Images are read from the document in the resolution in which they were stored. A screenshot would usually give worse quality.

Scanned documents

In a scan every page is a single image, so the tool saves whole pages. To save the pages of any PDF as images, use PDF to JPG or PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How is this tool different from PDF to JPG?

Extraction saves the individual photos and graphics from the document, while PDF to JPG saves whole pages as images.

Why can’t I see some graphics?

Vector elements, such as charts and logos, are not stored in the file as images. You can save them by converting the page to PNG.

Can I download all the images at once?

Yes, click “Select all” and download them in a single ZIP file.
