How to rotate, delete and reorder pages in a PDF
After scanning, a stack of pages rarely comes out perfect: one page is sideways, another is blank and two have swapped places. You can fix each of these in seconds – without printing and scanning again.
Rotating pages permanently
Most PDF viewers let you rotate the view, but when you close the file the page is sideways again. For the change to stay, it has to be saved in the file.
- Open the Rotate PDF pages tool and add your file.
- Use the arrows on a thumbnail to rotate a single page, or “All left / All right” for the whole document.
- Click “Download PDF”. Only the orientation changes – text and images keep their quality.
Deleting pages you don’t need
Double-sided scanning often leaves blank sheets, and sometimes you only need to send part of a document. In Delete pages from PDF you click the thumbnails to remove or type page numbers, e.g. “2, 5-7”. The “Even pages” and “Odd pages” buttons select every other page – handy when all the back pages of a scan are blank. Shift + click selects a whole range.
Changing the page order
In Reorder PDF pages you drag thumbnails to new places. On a phone, the arrows under each thumbnail are easier. “Reverse order” helps when the scanner fed the pages last to first.
Which tool to choose
- Rotate: the page is in the right place but lies sideways or upside down.
- Delete pages: you keep most of the document and throw out a few sheets.
- Reorder: every page is needed, just in a different order.
- Split PDF: you need a few pages as a separate file, or every page on its own – see Split PDF.

You scanned a five-page form on both sides and got ten pages: every other one blank, and the attachment sideways. In Delete pages you click “Even pages”, download the file without the blank sheets, then straighten the attachment in Rotate pages. A minute later the file is ready to send.
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating a page reduce quality?
No. Only the orientation stored in the file changes; text and images stay the same.
